Steven holds the prestigious H. N. Slater Professorship of Aeronautics and Astronautics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Leading the Aeronautics and Astronautics Department and directing the MIT Laboratory for Aviation and the Environment, he focuses on advancing the aviation field towards zero environmental impact. His areas of research include developing low emission propulsion technologies, contrail avoidance strategies, and assessing the sustainability of SAFs.
